Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including sales and purchase ledgers, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns and quarterly reports to HMRC in a timely manner.
- Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and year-end audit schedules.
- Process payroll for a small team of employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with PAYE regulations.
- Monitor cash flow and assist in budget preparation and variance analysis.
- Ensure all financial procedures adhere to UK GAAP and internal company policies.
Qualifications
- Relevant accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or AAT Level 4).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar part-time or full-time accounting role.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently.
