Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage and process daily invoices, ensure timely vendor payments, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliation of bank statements and credit card accounts to ensure data accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, including profit and loss reports and balance sheets.
- Payroll Support: Support the payroll process by collecting time sheets, verifying data, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Update and maintain the general ledger system, ensuring all transactions are properly categorized.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with internal policies and external accounting standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a small business or accounting firm setting.
- Software Skills: Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero; advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) are required.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to spot errors, review complex data, and ensure high levels of accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and clients.
- Schedule: Must be available for approximately 15-20 hours per week with some flexibility during month-end close periods.
