As a Night Shift Bookkeeper, you will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of our diverse client portfolio. You will handle the bulk of the daily transaction processing and reconciliation work, ensuring that our books are closed accurately and on time before the morning team takes over.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations with high precision.
- Process payroll runs for multiple clients, ensuring tax withholdings and deductions are calculated correctly.
- Manage bank reconciliations and wire transfers during the evening hours.
- Prepare and post journal entries to general ledgers.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and trial balances.
- Review and verify invoices for accuracy and proper authorization.
- Communicate with clients or external partners regarding outstanding balances or discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional bookkeeping experience.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Pro or Xero is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong working knowledge of US tax regulations and payroll laws.
- Must be available to work the night shift (e.g., 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM or similar).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
