The Role:
As our Night Shift Accountant, you will be the guardian of our fiscal accuracy. You will manage the end-of-day financial processing, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately before our team arrives. This is a critical role that offers autonomy and the chance to streamline our accounting workflows.
Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, with a focus on evening settlements.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and prepare nightly financial reports for management review.
- Review and audit invoices, receipts, and payroll records for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all night-shift entries are posted correctly.
- Assist with month-end close procedures, including preparing adjusting entries and variance analysis.
- Respond to vendor and client inquiries regarding billing and account status.
- Utilize accounting software to generate detailed financial statements and operational dashboards.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in general accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll processing.
- Proven experience working in a night shift or 24/7 operational environment is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to detect errors quickly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
