In this pivotal role, you will be the guardian of our financial integrity during the critical off-hours window. You will work independently to ensure that all daily and monthly accounting tasks are completed with precision, allowing our day shift team to focus on strategic growth. Responsibilities
- Execute Financial Close: Manage the end-of-day and month-end accounting close processes, ensuring all entries are posted accurately and on time.
- Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliation of bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies immediately.
- AP & AR Management: Process and verify accounts payable invoices and accounts receivable collections, ensuring timely payments and accurate revenue recording.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze financial reports, including trial balances and variance reports, to support management decision-making.
- Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to GAAP and internal control procedures during the night shift operations.
- System Maintenance: Update and maintain the general ledger system, ensuring all audit trails are complete and accessible for morning review.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or high-volume environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Schedule Availability: Must be available to work the night shift (typically 7:00 PM – 4:00 AM).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
