Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records, including journal entries and general ledger accounts.
- Process daily accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile credit card statements.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes by compiling data and preparing reports.
- Prepare basic financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, for management review.
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced Excel functions to analyze financial data.
- Support external auditors during audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently pursuing a CPA/CPA equivalent).
- 0-2 years of professional experience in accounting (internships are strongly considered).
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data sorting).
- Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
