Responsibilities
- Core Accounting: Manage daily accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring all invoices are processed timely and accurately.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts and credit cards to maintain accurate financial records.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, monthly financial statements, and balance sheets.
- Payroll Administration: Assist with processing payroll and ensuring all payroll tax filings are completed correctly and on schedule.
- Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GAAP and local tax regulations to ensure full compliance with financial standards.
- Client Liaison: Serve as the primary contact for client financial inquiries, providing clear and professional explanations of financial data.
- Record Keeping: Organize and digitize physical and electronic financial records for long-term accessibility and audit readiness.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online (QBO) or Xero is mandatory; experience with Sage or NetSuite is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including functions like VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables) and Google Workspace.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills with a proven track record of accuracy in data entry and analysis.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and team members.
