Responsibilities
- Manage Day-to-Day Bookkeeping: Handle full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Payroll Processing: Process payroll for employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, for review by management.
- Tax Preparation Support: Assist in the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns, as well as supporting the annual corporate tax filing process.
- Expense Management: Review and approve expense reports, ensuring they adhere to company policies and budgets.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage) to maintain accurate digital records.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a corporate or accounting firm setting.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage; advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) are a must.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Integrity: Strong ethical standards and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet strict deadlines in a busy environment.
