Responsibilities
- Accounts Management: Oversee the full cycle of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure all accounts match the company's financial records.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements, on a monthly basis.
- Payroll Processing: Assist in the accurate and timely processing of payroll, including tax filings and deductions.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger, posting journal entries, and reviewing account activity for discrepancies.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; High school diploma with relevant experience is acceptable.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar accounting software. Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) are required.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect and correct errors in financial data.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and management.
- Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
