Responsibilities
- Manage Daily Transactions: Process daily bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable and accounts receivable with a high degree of accuracy.
- Bank Reconciliation: Review bank statements and credit card statements to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly and reconcile discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, balance sheets, and profit & loss statements for management review.
- Data Entry: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accounting software (QuickBooks/Xero) and spreadsheets.
- Invoice Processing: Issue and process invoices, ensuring they are recorded in the correct period and matched to supporting documentation.
- Compliance Support: Assist with the preparation of documents required for tax season and general compliance audits.
- Client Communication: Communicate with clients regarding billing inquiries and provide basic financial summaries.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
- Experience: No prior experience required. We are looking for candidates with a strong aptitude for numbers and a willingness to learn.
- Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is essential) and experience with accounting software is a plus but not mandatory.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors in data entry and maintain data integrity.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Communication: Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliability: Ability to work independently and meet scheduled deadlines in a remote or hybrid office environment.
