Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledgers and reconcile accounts monthly
- Process accounts payable/receivable and manage payroll transactions
- Generate financial statements (balance sheets, income statements)
- Prepare sales tax filings and regulatory compliance documents
- Implement and optimize QuickBooks accounting systems
- Provide month-end closing support and variance analysis
- Collaborate with tax preparers for year-end documentation
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Associate's degree in Accounting or related field
- Knowledge of GAAP principles and Maryland tax regulations
- Ability to manage multiple client deadlines simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail with error-spotting capabilities
