Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive credit risk assessments on new and existing loan applicants to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow data to evaluate the creditworthiness of borrowers.
- Prepare detailed credit memos and recommendations for the underwriting committee.
- Monitor and manage existing credit exposures, identifying early warning signs of potential default.
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide expert guidance on credit terms and product offerings.
- Maintain and update internal credit databases and reporting systems with accurate information.
- Stay current on industry trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes affecting the lending environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in credit analysis, commercial lending, or financial underwriting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros) and financial modeling software.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw logical conclusions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings to stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Familiarity with banking regulations (e.g., CRA, Basel III) is a plus.
