Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough financial analysis of borrower statements, tax returns, and cash flow projections to assess creditworthiness.
- Develop and maintain credit scoring models to evaluate loan applications and determine appropriate credit limits.
- Monitor existing accounts for signs of financial distress and proactively recommend mitigation strategies.
- Prepare comprehensive credit reports and presentations for senior management and underwriting committees.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales and legal to facilitate smooth loan closings and portfolio management.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with banking standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience: 2+ years of proven experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, or financial underwriting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, MS Excel (advanced functions), and credit analysis software (e.g., FICO, SAS).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of lending regulations, fair lending laws, and economic indicators.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex data clearly.
