Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough analysis of financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow projections for commercial and consumer loan applicants.
- Evaluate credit risk and prepare detailed credit memos and recommendations for the Underwriting Committee.
- Monitor existing accounts to identify early warning signs of financial distress and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Maintain and update accurate credit files and internal databases in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with loan officers and relationship managers to resolve credit issues and restructure terms when necessary.
- Assess macroeconomic trends and their potential impact on the local and regional loan portfolio.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in credit analysis, commercial lending, or underwriting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Macros) and financial analysis software.
- Deep understanding of credit scoring models, underwriting guidelines, and banking regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
