Your Role
You will be responsible for managing the full-cycle bookkeeping process, ensuring that our financial data is organized and accessible for strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounts payable and accounts receivable operations, ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and on time.
- Perform bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are correctly categorized.
- Process payroll for employees and contractors accurately, adhering to New York State labor laws.
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns.
- Support the finance team with budget preparation and expense tracking.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online or Xero.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Experience with payroll processing (ADP, Gusto, or similar platforms).
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot discrepancies in financial data.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
