Responsibilities
- Manage Daily Financial Operations: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations to ensure all records are up-to-date and accurate.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and general ledger reports.
- Bookkeeping Software: Utilize QuickBooks or Xero to manage financial data, including categorizing transactions and managing invoices.
- Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing, ensuring all tax withholdings and deductions are calculated correctly.
- Compliance: Maintain organized and accurate filing systems for all financial documents and ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Tax Preparation: Collaborate with external accountants to prepare tax documents and ensure timely filing.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a corporate or accounting firm setting.
- Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software, and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) are a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect errors and inconsistencies in financial data.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
