Responsibilities
- Manage Daily Transactions: Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all invoices are recorded accurately and payments are made on schedule.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure financial records match actual bank statements.
- Payroll Administration: Process payroll for the team on a bi-weekly basis, maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with labor laws.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements for management review.
- Software Management: Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) to track financial data and generate reports.
- Tax Support: Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings and organize supporting documentation.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial processes adhere to internal controls and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; high school diploma with equivalent experience is acceptable.
- Experience: 2+ years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a corporate or accounting firm setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or desktop software, and strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot discrepancies and maintain high accuracy in data entry.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial staff.
- Organization: Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
