Responsibilities
- Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts to the general ledger, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Process payroll for the night shift team, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements, for executive review.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register and perform periodic physical asset counts.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end audits and tax documents.
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) to automate and streamline financial processes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a night shift or high-volume environment.
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel (advanced functions), and accounting software.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently during night hours with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with remote teams.
