As a Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our clients' financial health. This is a hands-on position requiring someone who can hit the ground running.
Responsibilities
- Manage Daily Transactions: Accurately record daily financial transactions including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly to ensure accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports.
- Payroll Processing: Assist in processing payroll for employees on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
- Tax Preparation Support: Gather necessary documentation to support tax filings and assist the accounting team during tax season.
- Invoice Management: Issue and track invoices, ensuring all vendor accounts are up to date.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger and ensure all journal entries are posted correctly.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional bookkeeping experience.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage accounting software.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) is essential.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect discrepancies.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for client interactions.
- GAAP Knowledge: Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
