Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, verify expenses, and ensure timely payments to vendors while tracking all incoming payments from clients.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts, month-end close procedures, and generate financial statements for management review.
- Payroll Management: Assist with the processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring tax filings and deductions are calculated correctly.
- Bookkeeping Software: Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) to input data, run reports, and maintain digital financial records.
- Compliance & Tax Support: Assist in the preparation of annual tax documents and ensure all financial activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Vendor Relations: Maintain strong relationships with vendors and resolve billing inquiries efficiently.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience in a corporate or accounting firm setting.
- Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in QuickBooks Online/Pro, Microsoft Excel (advanced functions), and preferably Xero or Sage.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and financial reporting with a keen eye for spotting errors.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with team members and external partners.
- Organization: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Self-Starter: Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
