Responsibilities
- Manage Daily Bookkeeping: Accurately record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all entries are balanced and reconciled.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure bank statements match internal records, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including P&L statements and balance sheets, for management review.
- Payroll Processing: Process payroll for multiple clients, ensuring accurate tax calculations and timely distribution of wages.
- Tax Preparation Support: Collaborate with tax professionals to gather necessary documentation and data for year-end tax filings.
- Vendor Management: Maintain accurate vendor files, process invoices, and manage payments according to client agreements.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or corporate environment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or Xero; working knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, vlookups) is required.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and basic tax laws.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies in financial data.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
