Responsibilities
- Manage Financial Records: Accurately record daily transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all entries are balanced.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and credit card statements to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Bookkeeping Software: Utilize QuickBooks and Xero to manage ledgers, generate financial reports, and maintain up-to-date client data.
- Payroll Support: Assist in processing payroll runs and ensuring all tax filings and compliance documents are accurate.
- Reporting: Prepare and present monthly financial statements, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets to management.
- Client Communication: Interact with clients to answer questions regarding their financial status and provide detailed explanations of their reports.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and track inventory levels, ensuring accurate costing and valuation.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a small business or accounting firm setting.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure 100% accuracy in data entry and calculations.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial clients.
- Integrity: High level of professional ethics and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial data.
