The Role:
As our Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. You will manage the end-to-end billing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in revenue collection while providing exceptional support to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage and process invoices, billing statements, and payments with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Review and reconcile accounts receivable, identifying discrepancies and resolving billing errors promptly.
- Communicate with clients and insurance providers to resolve outstanding balances and answer billing inquiries.
- Monitor claims status, follow up on denials, and submit appeals to ensure maximum revenue capture.
- Maintain and update accurate billing records and documentation in compliance with internal policies and industry regulations (HIPAA/GAAP).
- Assist in the monthly closing process and generate financial reports as requested by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical or commercial billing, collections, or accounts receivable.
- Proficiency in billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong knowledge of billing regulations, coding principles, and revenue cycle management best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
