Responsibilities
- Review and audit medical claims and invoices for accuracy and compliance before submission.
- Process and post payments, adjustments, and patient payments accurately to the general ledger.
- Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable and patient balances to ensure timely collections.
- Resolve billing discrepancies, answer patient inquiries via phone and email, and provide excellent customer service.
- Update patient records in the billing software and maintain strict data integrity.
- Collaborate with the collections team to minimize bad debt and improve cash flow.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Finance or Healthcare Administration is a plus.
- 2+ years of verifiable experience in medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth, or Meditech).
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and billing management software.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex billing issues under pressure.
