Responsibilities
- Process and post invoices accurately and efficiently to ensure timely revenue collection.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments and delinquent accounts.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and answer customer inquiries regarding invoices and payments.
- Maintain and update patient or client financial records in the billing software.
- Prepare monthly reports on billing status, revenue, and outstanding balances.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state billing regulations, including HIPAA standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Previous experience as a Billing Specialist, Medical Biller, or in Revenue Cycle Management.
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and general accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) and insurance claim processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
