Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
- Reconcile patient accounts and resolve billing discrepancies within 48 hours
- Manage denial management workflows with 95% first-pass resolution rate
- Conduct monthly audits of billing codes for CPT/ICD-10 compliance
- Process patient payments and maintain electronic health record (EHR) billing modules
- Collaborate with collections team on aged accounts receivable exceeding 60 days
- Train staff on updated billing procedures and regulatory changes
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration or Finance required (Bachelor's preferred)
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial insurance knowledge
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expertise in Epic, Cerner, or NextGen billing systems
- Advanced proficiency in Excel with pivot table capabilities
- Strong understanding of HIPAA and CMS billing regulations
- Proven track record of reducing denial rates by 20%+
