Responsibilities
- Process and submit insurance claims for Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers
- Resolve billing discrepancies through patient and insurance company communication
- Maintain accurate patient account records and documentation
- Analyze aging reports and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and billing industry standards
- Collaborate with clinical departments to verify charge accuracy
- Generate monthly billing reports for financial analysis
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in Epic, Cerner, or similar EHR billing systems
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) certification preferred
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
