Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end medical billing processes including charge entry, claim submission, and follow-up
- Resolve complex insurance claim denials through precise coding and documentation review
- Reconcile accounts receivable and prepare monthly financial reports for leadership
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with HIPAA
- Train staff on billing procedures and regulatory updates (e.g., ICD-10, CPT)
- Optimize billing workflows using Epic EMR and NextGen practice management systems
- Conduct quarterly audits to identify revenue leakage opportunities
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a NYC healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) credential
- Expertise in CPT/HCPCS coding and CMS-1500 claim forms
- Advanced proficiency in billing software (Epic, NextGen, or Athenahealth)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in AR aging reports and denial analysis
- Exceptional communication abilities for insurer negotiations and patient interactions
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field
- Knowledge of NY Medicaid/Medicare regulations and third-party payers
