Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate insurance claims and patient invoices within strict deadlines
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies through direct communication with payers and patients
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and industry billing standards (ICD-10, CPT)
- Generate monthly revenue reports and analyze billing trends for process improvements
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure charge capture accuracy and documentation
- Utilize Epic and NextGen EHR systems for efficient billing operations
- Train staff on billing protocols and new regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) preferred
- Expertise in claim scrubbing, denial management, and appeals processes
- Proficient with EHR systems (Epic, NextGen) and billing software (e.g., Athena, Centricity)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to numerical detail
- Exceptional communication abilities for resolving complex billing issues
- Knowledge of Massachusetts healthcare regulations and payer policies
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field
