Responsibilities
- Process and verify insurance claims for accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Resolve billing discrepancies through direct communication with insurance providers and patients
- Generate monthly financial reports and analyze billing trends for leadership review
- Maintain accurate patient account records in Epic EMR and billing software platforms
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure proper coding (CPT/ICD-10) and documentation
- Oversee accounts receivable processes and implement denial prevention strategies
- Train staff on updated billing policies and regulatory changes
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration or Finance (Bachelor's preferred)
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) credential
- Expertise in Epic EMR and NextGen billing systems
- Advanced knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding and CMS regulations
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with 95% claim resolution rate
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with advanced formula knowledge
- Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance in all financial operations
