Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate medical claims to insurance providers and government payers
- Resolve billing discrepancies through meticulous account reconciliation and follow-up
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for services rendered
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and maintain strict confidentiality of patient financial data
- Analyze aging reports and implement strategies to reduce outstanding accounts receivable
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation supports billing requirements
- Utilize Epic EMR and practice management systems for billing operations
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration, accounting, or related field
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with insurance claim processing
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) preferred
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Advanced knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication abilities for patient and insurer interactions
- Experience with Epic EMR and NextGen practice management systems
