Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end medical billing processes for 50+ daily claims using Epic EMR systems
- Verify insurance eligibility and coordinate with payers for complex claim resolution
- Reconcile patient accounts, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and adherence to CMS/AMA billing regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document services accurately for optimal reimbursement
- Generate monthly billing reports and analyze denial trends for process improvement
- Train junior staff on billing protocols and software utilization
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Expertise in CPT/ICD-10 coding and UB-04 form completion
- Proficient in Epic Resolute or similar EMR billing modules
- Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) or RHIA preferred
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in high-volume transactions
- Experience resolving denials from Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurers
- Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance while meeting aggressive deadlines
