Responsibilities
- Process routine transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments with 100% accuracy
- Provide exceptional customer service by resolving inquiries, explaining account features, and recommending appropriate banking products
- Balance cash drawers daily and adhere to strict security protocols for cash handling
- Open new accounts (checking, savings, CDs) and assist customers with digital banking tools
- Identify cross-sell opportunities for credit cards, loans, and investment products
- Participate in community outreach events to promote financial literacy
- Maintain confidential customer information and comply with banking regulations
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of customer service or cash handling experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in finance preferred
- Proficiency with basic math and ability to operate teller equipment/software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial transactions
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with diverse clientele
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work efficiently during peak hours
- Must pass background check and fingerprinting per banking regulations
- Spanish bilingual skills highly valued for serving Oakland's diverse community
