Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process and verify invoices, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate before payment is issued.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of bank statements and general ledger accounts to identify discrepancies.
- Record Keeping: Maintain organized, up-to-date, and accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and filing systems.
- Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, expense reports, and variance analyses for management review.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and resolve billing discrepancies professionally.
- Compliance: Ensure all accounting activities adhere to company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Assistance: Support the finance department during month-end and year-end closing processes.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred; high school diploma with equivalent work experience accepted.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in an accounting or clerical role is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to detect errors and ensure high accuracy in data entry and processing.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external vendors.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Software: Familiarity with ERP systems or tax preparation software is a plus.
