Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Account Management: Maintain accurate general ledger accounts, including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded timely and accurately.
- Payroll Oversight: Assist in the monthly payroll process, verifying time sheets and ensuring tax withholdings are correct.
- Compliance: Ensure the organization remains compliant with local, state, and federal tax regulations and financial reporting requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency using accounting software.
- Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts to detect discrepancies immediately.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Certification: CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of progressive experience in general accounting or finance.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
