Responsibilities
- Manage Day-to-Day Accounting: Handle general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations with precision.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, for management review.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure all financial activities comply with GAAP and relevant New York state regulations; assist in external and internal audits.
- Payroll Support: Collaborate with the payroll department to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze budget variances and provide insights to management to support strategic decision-making.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
- Licensure: CPA certification or CMA designation is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
