Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable reconciliation to ensure accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns and ensure timely filings to avoid penalties.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement efficient internal controls.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and support during audits.
- Payroll Management: Assist in the monthly payroll process, ensuring all deductions and contributions are calculated correctly.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop budgets and monitor financial performance against targets.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; CPA certification is a significant plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in general accounting or financial reporting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
