Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records while ensuring full compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, for review by management.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts to ensure data accuracy.
- Payroll Processing: Assist in the processing of payroll, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of wages and tax withholdings.
- Month-End Close: Support the month-end and year-end close processes by analyzing variances and preparing journal entries.
- Compliance: Ensure all tax filings and regulatory requirements are met in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Certification: CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred but not strictly required for immediate consideration.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in general accounting or a related role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), and experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite).
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and analysis.
