Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage daily transactions, process invoices, and ensure timely payments to vendors while monitoring accounts receivable.
- Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory changes to ensure the company remains compliant.
- Audit Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in general accounting or a related role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or SAP) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups) are essential.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to analyze data, spot errors, and ensure precision in all financial documentation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
