Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Manage daily accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all transactions.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, for management review.
- Tax Support: Assist in the preparation of federal and state tax returns, including sales tax and payroll tax filings.
- Compliance: Ensure all accounting practices comply with GAAP and local Louisiana tax laws.
- Software Administration: Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) to maintain up-to-date financial records and generate reports.
- Internal Controls: Assist in the implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required.
- Certification: CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory for immediate consideration.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and accounting software.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to data entry and financial analysis.
