Responsibilities
- Manage Financial Records: Accurately record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all entries are timely and precise.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, to support executive decision-making.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure data integrity and resolve any discrepancies immediately.
- Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual tax returns, ensuring full compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Payroll Support: Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate payroll processing and tax withholdings.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement in our accounting workflows and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.
- Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company internal controls.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CMA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience in general accounting or financial analysis.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks or Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) is essential.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Integrity: High ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive financial information.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and payroll laws in Indiana.
