Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and quarter-end closing processes with weekend-specific deadlines
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and income reports
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and state-specific financial laws
- Coordinate with external auditors during weekend audit cycles
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable and general ledger maintenance
- Develop and implement financial controls and process improvements
- Provide weekend support for urgent financial inquiries and transaction reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with weekend shift exposure
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel (including macros), and ERP systems
- Deep understanding of California state tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Proven track record of meeting tight financial deadlines
- Excellent communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration
