Responsibilities
- Perform weekly reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including bank statements, credit card accounts, and prepaid expenses.
- Process and prepare weekly payroll entries, ensuring all timesheets and deductions are accurate and compliant with federal and state regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and variance analysis for the weekend closure.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register, performing monthly depreciation calculations.
- Review and code incoming invoices to ensure proper categorization and approval workflow adherence.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings and government reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal control procedures during the closing process.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably with a focus on month-end or week-end close cycles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and strong Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during weekend shifts.
- Must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays on a regular schedule.
