Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Manage general ledger accounts, perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, and ensure all financial data is recorded correctly.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns and support the external audit process by providing requested documentation and schedules.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and processing of vendor invoices.
- Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis to support management decision-making.
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero) and Microsoft Excel to maintain organized financial records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or direct hire setting.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups).
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and federal tax regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to detect and correct errors in financial data.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high accuracy under pressure.
