Responsibilities
- Prepare & File Returns: Accurately prepare and file federal and state income tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
- Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, gathering necessary documentation and answering tax-related inquiries.
- Compliance Review: Perform detailed reviews of financial records to ensure full compliance with IRS regulations and state laws.
- Research: Conduct research on complex tax issues and interpret new tax laws to ensure client compliance.
- Bookkeeping Support: Assist in maintaining client general ledgers and performing bank reconciliations.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior accountants and tax managers to meet tight filing deadlines.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation is required.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation (e.g., Drake, TaxSlayer, ProSeries) is preferred.
- Certification: CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
