Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close procedures
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and income reports with strict attention to accuracy
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and internal financial controls
- Conduct account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with vendors/customers
- Support audits and provide financial documentation as requested
- Collaborate with cross-department teams to optimize financial processes
- Implement cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required (CPA preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience in public or corporate setting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting software (Sage 100 experience a plus)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Excellent communication skills for client/stakeholder interactions
- Proven track record of meeting tight deadlines in fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of Virginia tax regulations and federal reporting requirements
