Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and small businesses with a high degree of accuracy.
- Conduct thorough tax research to interpret complex tax laws and regulations.
- Assist clients with tax planning strategies to minimize liability and maximize deductions.
- Communicate complex tax concepts to clients in clear, plain English during consultation meetings.
- Review financial statements and supporting documents to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and implement necessary adjustments to company procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is a significant plus.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in tax preparation and accounting.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., Drake, Lacerte, ProSeries, or UltraTax) and general accounting software.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
