Responsibilities
- Oversee month-end closing processes including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Manage accounts payable/receivable cycles and optimize cash flow operations
- Conduct financial analysis and variance reporting to support strategic decision-making
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and industry-specific regulatory requirements
- Lead internal audits and collaborate with external auditors during annual reviews
- Implement process improvements using automation tools and accounting software
- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide cross-functional financial guidance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance with CPA certification required
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience with remote work proficiency
- Expertise in QuickBooks Online, SAP, and advanced Excel modeling
- Proven track record in multi-state tax compliance and payroll processing
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Exceptional communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration
- Experience with construction or manufacturing accounting preferred
- Proficiency in accounting automation tools like Bill.com or FloQast
