Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Payroll Management: Execute payroll processing for all employees on a bi-weekly basis using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accuracy and adherence to payroll schedules.
- Compliance & Reporting: Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns (W-2s, 1099s) in a timely manner to ensure full compliance with FLSA, IRS, and state regulations.
- Employee Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, tax questions, and deductions, providing exceptional service to staff.
- Timekeeping Administration: Monitor and audit time-off requests, sick leave accruals, and overtime calculations to prevent errors.
- Process Improvement: Analyze current payroll procedures and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Garnishment & Deduction Handling: Accurately process wage garnishments, child support orders, and other legal deductions.
- Month-End Close: Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts and provide detailed reports to the Finance Manager for monthly close.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of full-cycle payroll experience in a corporate environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of ADP (Workforce Now) or similar payroll software; strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) required.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of payroll tax laws, FLSA regulations, and federal/state tax requirements.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and calculation; strong problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex payroll topics clearly.
- Professionalism: High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial data.
