Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for SME clients using QuickBooks/Xero
- Process weekly payroll and ensure HMRC compliance
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet)
- Handle VAT returns and quarterly tax filings
- Support audits with accurate documentation
- Implement process improvements for efficiency
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years UK bookkeeping experience
- AAT Level 3/4 or equivalent qualification
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Xero
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and HMRC regulations
- Attention to detail with numerical accuracy
- Ability to meet tight weekly deadlines
- Relevant degree or professional certification preferred
